愛爾蘭樂隊 The Cranberries 主音 Dolores O'Riordan 日前突然離世，年僅 46 歲。對香港人來說，最難忘的一首 The Cranberries 的作品應該是《Dreams》，九十年代樂壇天后王菲就是憑藉唱此曲的中文版《夢中人》走紅。

The Cranberries 有許多精彩作品，其中《Zombie》是 grunge 味十足的反戰歌曲，對製造戰爭者提出強烈控訴，且唱出無辜受害者的感慨：

2007 年 5 月，Dolores 第一次以個人身份推出專輯《Are You Listening？》，首波主打單曲《Ordinary Day》，靈感據說啟發自她小女兒的誕生，其中幾句歌詞教人動容：

母親是多麼想留在世上給予女兒幸福快樂，奈何事與願違，上天要她先行一步。

四年前，Dolores 在接受訪問時透露，她 8 歲時一度被性侵犯，多年來靠酗酒濫藥麻醉自己，甚至考慮過自殺，後來發覺應為子女繼續生存。她剛走出陰霾，得享天倫樂，可惜天不假年。

Dolores 生前友好 Brigid Teefy 表示：「Dolores 與母親和家人非常親密。這是一個巨大的震撼。她做得很好。她非常驚人。」The Corrs 的結他手 Jim Corr 說：「對於悲慘地去世的 Dolores O'Riordan，我願意對其家人致以最深切的同情」，男子組合 Westlife 的成員 Brian McFadden 讚揚 Dolores 是「具標誌性和可愛的女人」。

除了王菲，台灣的范曉萱、美國的 Rihanna，都或多或少受到 Dolores 獨特的聲音演繹影響。

The Cranberries 過往不時來港演出，令香港人對他們有著一種莫名的親切感，視之為美好的九十年代的標誌。Dolores 離世，黃德斌、杜汶澤皆深感難過，彷彿一個時代已經遠去。
