美國哈利電單車為避開歐盟關稅，計劃轉移部份生產線至美國境外，特朗普在Twitter發文表示感到詫異，批評哈利是「首間舉白旗投降的公司」。 

特朗普稱自己正為美國公司努力爭取，最終可以為眾公司爭取向歐盟輸出產品時免關稅，呼籲哈利等美國企業「給點耐性」（be patient）。 

美國自6月1日起，對來自歐盟、加拿大和墨西哥的鋼產品徵收25%關稅，鋁產品則徵收10%的關稅，歐盟為報復於6月22日起，正式對總值28億歐元的美國貨品，徵收25%關稅。
