北韓領袖金正恩表示，如美方如找到北韓認同方法，願與美國總統特朗普舉行第3次首腦會談。金正恩又指，他和美國總統特朗普之間的私人關係，並不像兩國關係那樣敵對，依然保持良好的關係。
特朗普周六（4月13日）在社交網站回應，同意金正恩指兩人關係很好，或許用「極好」會更加準確，如能舉行第3次峰會很好，大家都充份理解對方立場。
特朗普又指，北韓在金正恩領導下，有巨大經濟增長及成功的潛力，他期待移除核武和撤銷制裁的日子盡快來到，屆時再目睹北韓成為世界上最成功的國家之一。
