Fake it ’til you become Nic Tse the MasterChef

Singer Nicholas Tse has taken over our social media feeds once again, not with his music or movies, but with his culinary performance. Netizens took parts of his cooking show, Chef Nic, first aired in China back in 2014, to “praise” his “spectacular” cooking skill.

It may well be more style than substance, but not all of us can cook like an actual master chef, or even look half cool as one. Here are 10 Buzzfeed tips for you to fake it ’til you make it:

1. When people do things with both hands, do it with one, like peeling a banana or lighting a match.

2. What people do it with one hand, for example, using a lighter or holding a mic, do it backhanded.

3. Why use hands when you have tools? Like using chopsticks to hold that straw you need to drink with.

4. In fact, why use hands when you can just use your mouth? Bite that bottle cap open with your teeth.

5. You know what, when people need to resort to tools, you show them the power of your bare hands. Stick your finger in that boiling broth to taste it, skip the spoon and any washing up afterwards.

6. When people resort to protections, you show your bravery. Not talking about that sort of protections, just helmets for motorbikes.

7. When people don’t protect themselves, let the world know you are all safety first. Those safety goggles are absolutely crucial when you need to deep-fry.

8. What people can pull off and look as cool as they can be, you do it with swag. Toss that wok with one hand at your hip and swag your way through it.

9. If people are pulling it off with swag, and you can’t think of a way to get ahead, wear sunglasses and repeat.

10. If you think it’s not appropriate to wear sunglasses indoor (actually if you think like that, you’ve already lost the coolness battle), do it with a grin in slow motion.
